Flights last approximately forty five minutes to one hour, but the entire experience including pre-flight preparations and post-flight activities takes about 3–4 hours.

Flights take place from various different launch sites in the Mosselbay area located in the Garden Route, South Africa. You will be informed which launch site your Hot Air Balloon flight will depart from once the exact weather conditions have been confirmed, approximately 24 hours before your flight is scheduled.

You’ll enjoy breathtaking aerial views of the Indian Ocean, the Outeniqua Mountains in the distance, lush forests and rolling pastures.

Flights are scheduled at sunrise for optimal weather conditions and stunning scenic views.

Hot air ballooning is an extremely safe activity, which is highly regulated in South Africa with strict safety guidelines. We are licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority and all flights are conducted by fully licensed, experienced pilots. We always use the latest equipment which is maintained to the highest standards.

Prices is currently set ZAR 5,650 per person. Private flights and group packages are available upon request.

Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance are eligible for a refund or rescheduling. Weather-related cancellations are rescheduled at no additional cost. Please see our Flight Terms & Conditions and Payment Terms & Conditions for more info.

Hot Air ballooning is an outdoor adventure so we recommend that you dress in warm, comfortable layers as well as a cap or other hat to protect against the warmth from the burners. As you will have to climb into the basket it is advisable to wear comfortable long trousers. Denim or cotton Jackets are preferable. Please bear in mind as Hot Air Ballooning is an adventure activity your clothes may get a little dirty by the end of the experience. Sensible shoes or trainers are essential, no designer wear, flip-flops or high heels please.

Bring a camera or smartphone for photos and sunglasses as the sunrise can get rather bright. Large bags and loose items should be left behind.

Passengers must be at least 7 years old and 1.2 meters tall. Max weight per person is limited to 120 kilograms. Please inform us of any specific health concerns before booking.

Flights are very weather-dependent and as such if conditions turn out to be unsuitable we will reschedule your flight at no additional cost.

Passengers should be able to climb into the basket and stand for the flight’s duration. Unfortunately, the activity is unsuitable for pregnant individuals.

You’ll meet at your designated launch site in the early morning and enjoy coffee and rusks while watching the balloon being prepared for flight by the friendly ground crew. The pilot will introduce himself and brief you on the day’s events before boarding the hot air balloon for flight.

Your adventure includes an approximate one-hour flight, pre-flight snacks, a sparkling wine toast once you land, a full complimentary breakfast thereafter and a commemorative certificate signed by your pilot.

Depending on the basket size, we can accommodate between 2 and 8 passengers per flight. For numbers greater than that we employ a second hot air balloon which can take an additional 4, bringing the total max occupancy up to 12 passengers.

The temperature in the balloon is slightly warmer than on the ground, thanks to the burners. Mornings can be chilly, so dress in layers.

We recommend that you bring a camera, binoculars or camcorder as the balloon makes an excellent platform for photography. No drones though as this is not allowed due to airspace restrictions.

Yes, professional photography and videography services can be arranged upon request at an additional cost.

Yes, friends and family are welcome to join us at the launch site to watch the balloon take off. Please inform us beforehand so that we can make provision for them. There may be additional costs if they want to join for the breakfast thereafter.

Yes, children aged 7 and above are welcome as long as they’re at least 1.2 meters tall. For safety reasons, younger children cannot be accommodated as they need to stand for the duration of the flight and understand the full safety instructions.

Hot air balloon flights operate on a strict schedule to take advantage of the best weather conditions. Unfortunately, we cannot delay a flight. We recommend arriving 30 minutes before your scheduled time.

It depends on the condition. Passengers with severe mobility issues, heart conditions, or those who have recently undergone surgery should consult their doctor before booking. Please inform us of any medical concerns at the time of booking.

Unfortunately pets are not permitted on flights. Hot air ballooning is designed for humans and the experience may not be safe or suitable for animals.

Even though a Hot Air Balloon flight is a very tranquil experience while in the air, it is ultimately an adventure activity in the great outdoors and sometimes on landing the basket can drag along before coming to rest. This is how balloons have been landing for over 200 years and is perfectly normal. The balloon and basket are designed for your comfort and safety throughout the flight. During landing you will be in the safe, seated landing position within the basket as instructed by your pilot.
